I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

April Days

The snow is actually disappearing! This picture shows Maeve on Friday in almost the very same spot she was in the sled last Monday - the sunshine is really doing a job on our snowbanks. We have had a few nice warm days, but yesterday was quite raw with snowflakes in the air. I have always said that April weather is capable of anything, from snowstorms to picnic weather!

Jennifer is working in an office in Fredericton for a few weeks, so Maeve and I get to spend three days a week together. Cousin Becky takes over the other two days. I must admit I feel quite tired by the end of a day with Maeve, but what a joy it is to have that little girl in my life! She says the cutest things, and often amazes me with her observations. Today she told me it was windy, and that the trees were waving, so she was waving back at them. These are precious times, and I know it!

I have been scrapbooking whenever I get some spare time, and it is quite an experience to review the years of my life in photos. The book I am working on is called "Baby Stories", and I chose pictures of each of my three children from birth up till their first birthday. One thing that I really notice is how the quality of photographs has changed in thirty years! It is very satisfying to choose the best photos and arrange them so that they tell a story, then add little decorative items and a bit of writtten commentary. I think they are more interesting to look at than regular albums, and it feels like a real accomplishment once they are completed. The room that we prepared last fall just for scrapbooking is working very well, and the closet shelves are ideal for storing all the pictues and supplies. Amy is a fellow scrapbooker and sometimes we are both there, cropping and sticking! We notice that we don't talk a lot though, because the work takes a lot of concentration.

Here are some "robin pictures" that I took last week. Can't you just hear this one singing his little heart out?
