I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

August Memories

Another month is nearly over, in fact summer itself is coming to an end. August has been filled with exciting things which have kept us very busy!

At the beginning of the month Rich's sister Suzanne and her family arrived from England to start a new life in Canada. While they are in the process of arranging jobs, housing, and all the details that go into such a move, they have been staying at our home, while we are at Yoho. We pray that all those details fall into place for them quickly! The photo shows some of them on an afternoon at the lake.
Here is a picture of Maeve and Papa out for an early-morning paddle when she had a sleepover at the lake. These are treasured memories for both of them!

Here are some of the people at a party we had to welcome Jonathan home from Alberta. The only person missing is Jonathan - he missed his flight the night before because the airline had switched things around!!! Miranda and Julia had arrived a couple of nights previously, since they had attended a wedding in Saskatoon, so Jonathan was scheduled to arrive at noon the day we had the party arranged. Anyway, we went ahead with the gathering, and Jonathan arrived later that evening. Of course that meant we had to invite the whole crowd again later in the week, which was another fun time with lots of good food for family and friends. The photo above is of the pre-Jonathan gathering.

Here are cousins Maeve and Julia having fun on the beach, with Miranda in the background. The girls are old enough now to play together on their own and I'm sure they will have lots of good times together in the years to come.

We got this great picture of my parents with their four great-grandchildren. I am so thankful for Mum and Dad's good health and how active and involved they are - they really are enjoying life at this stage!
More excitement - Jen and Rich moved into their new home, which is this gorgeous farmhouse built in the early 1900's. They are in the process of making it their own, doing a few renovations and touch-ups, and getting settled. It is not far from the house they lived in before, and is a beautiful property with lots of space and growing things. What a lovely place for two little girls to grow up!
We love the firepit we bought a few years ago! It is so nice to sit around the fire in cosy jackets, talking under the stars. We really need to do that more often!

On Jon and Miranda's last day here, we went to a fish and chip place a few miles from here. It is so good to be with all of our children and their kids, even though it doesn't happen often. We took every opportunity we could to spend time together while they were home. Happily, the summer weather stayed with us and lots of good times were had.

And here they are - seven people who exist "All because two people fell in love"!
And, more importantly, because God planned it to be so!
