I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

Yoho Days

It has been an absolutely beautiful weekend at Yoho Lake! After some very wild wind days and nights last week, we wondered if our summer weather was over, but thankfully it has returned.

Friday night there was a housewarming party at Amy and Rudi's apartment. There was a barbecue supper on the rooftop patio, followed by time in the pool and the common social room, then games in their place. Amy served a delicious peach cobbler that was very easy to make, in fact I made it the next day and served it at a big pot luck supper we had at the lake.

This is the view I had when I awoke on Saturday morning. It took my breath away, as though I were seeing the lake on a perfect summer morning for the first time! Before I was out of bed, Kevin had driven to the Fredericton Saturday morning market, and brought treats for breakfast.

Look at these gorgeous wild blueberries - the first we've had this season. It has occurred to me that Maeve's eyes are exactly the same colour as these berries! He also brought croissants, one of my favorite things and a wonderful bread made with all kinds of grains.

So we had a very special breakfast together on the deck.
Later in the morning Jen and Maeve arrived, then Amy and Rudi with friends. There was lots of water skiing and other kinds of fun. Another group of friends arrived for supper - we counted 31 people at the feast! - and the boating and water-skiing went on literally until dark. It was certainly a full day of fun!

After church on Sunday we brought my Mum to spend the day at Yoho with us. Of course we had a game of Scrabble, and once again the boats went almost non-stop.
This is summer as it was meant to be, I'm sure.
