I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

My Treasures

YOHO TODAY - like glass!

When I named my Blog Mamma Di's Treasures, I knew I would be talking about all the things I treasure. Most of those "things" are actually people, but there are also precious places and events, too. Today I am especially thankful for all my treasures. I have had time to think of the things that I enjoy about this life, and to thank the Lord for all that He has provided - not only those things I need, but He gives so many "extras", which bring me joy. His unconditional love is beyond measure!

This month we have spent a few days at Beulah Campground on the Saint John River at the New Brunswick Christian Ashram. It was a tremendous time of fellowship with beautiful worship music, a great Bible teacher (Bill Hockin) and evangelist (Steven Fenton), good food and a wonderful sense of God's presence. We have attended every year since it began seven years ago, and each year is a very special time. Anyone interested in attending next year? Give me a call!
Here are some asters that I picked a while ago. I love their bright colours and fluffy appearance. They last a nice long time in the house, too, so I'll be sure to plant them again next year.

OUR SPIDER
I'm usually squeamish about spiders, and this is an especially huge one, but I am fascinated by it. It stays on a particular spot on our deck, protecting its babies, I assume. I don't know what will happen when they all hatch! It is a Wharf Spider, about 3 inches long from tip to tip.

Maeve and I have spent lots of time together in the last couple of weeks -precious time, I should point out, as she and her Mummy and Daddy will be visiting family and friends in Scotland and England for the next three weeks. First they will be staying at the centre on Loch Tay where Jen and Rich met and worked. I can't wait to see a picture of "Maeve Rosa Tay" at Loch Tay! They will be traveling to various parts of England to introduce Maeve to her Daddy's native country. I miss them already!
We have been waiting for Maeve to begin talking, and in the past few days she has really repeated a lot of things after me. The longest word she said was "helicopter" - seriously! She called out to the dog Bailey "Bay-wee". And she actually repeated "I love you"! How sweet is that? She calls her Grampa "Bumpa". Baby talk is so adorable!
As I said, she and I have lots of fun together at the lake when her Mummy and Daddy are working. She loves to play in the sand and water, the trampoline is a favorite place, she loves playing with her dollies, and her colouring book and crayons are always popular. She certainly is one of my treasures!
