I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

Lady Julia

Yes, this post is all about Julia! She turned one last Sunday, and Gramma and Papa just couldn't miss the big celebration, so here we are at her Mummy and Daddy's house for a two week visit. We have all been very busy with parties and friends, going to the park, and gardening, and learning to walk and come down the stairs. Julia took her first steps last Wednesday between Mummy and Gramma, and has been steadily improving ever since. As well, she is working on coming down the stairs on her hands and knees without falling, and is doing very well. I love this picture of her on her tiptoes looking out the window at a bird.
And here she is walking with her car, which she doesn't really need, but she still likes it for support.

The party to celebrate her first birthday was on Saturday. These are the birthday cupcakes that Mummy and Gramma made.
This is the birthday girl decked out in her sun hat and glasses, because it was a beautiful sunny day. The party was outside on the lawn and deck, and bubble blowing was a favourite activity.

Lots of friends came and enjoyed the day. Daddy barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone. Julia liked her hotdog and cantaloupe. Her hat says "Birthday Girl". She tried a cupcake, but found it too messy, and not really to her liking. There were presents, too, which Mummy mostly opened.
The next day, on her actual birthday, Julia was dedicated. Here she is with her Mummy and Daddy on the way to church.
And here is Julia's special part in the service.

Gramma and Papa were very happy to be with them for this special time. After church we went to Boston Pizza for lunch and then we went to Gene and Karin's for supper with friends and family. Here is Julia with her Papa in Gene's backyard.
The weekend was a wonderful celebration of little Julia's life!
