We had a busy weekend that was lots of fun because our son Jonathan was in town for a couple of days! He works in Alberta, but his company sent some representatives to universities in the Atlantic Provinces to recruit new employees, and he was one of those selected. They arrived in St. John's Newfoundland on Sunday, flew to Halifax on Wednesday and arrived in Fredericton on Thursday morning. We picked them up at the airport and then went to Jen's house for a lovely lunch. We were glad to show them some Maritime hospitality! Kevin gave them a quick tour of the cranberry bog, but they were between harvests, so there wasn't a lot going on there.
We sat in the sun and had tea.Jonathan was free to spend time with us from Friday afternoon until his plane left around noon on Saturday, so we had to squeeze a lot into a few hours. We did, and it was really a wonderful time.
Maeve was with me on Friday, so she and Uncle Jon got to have some fun together. We had a family dinner at our home Friday evening, then we went to the Chalet where friends and family came to visit. Jon showed us pictures on Amy and Rudi's big screen, we enjoyed snacks, then played the crazy game of Quelf - it is hilarious! Some people enjoyed a soak in the hot tub. I made waffles for breakfast on Saturday morning, then it was off to the airport. It was a quick visit, but a great one!
