If you were with me right now, this is what you would see. (Those are Amy's toes peeking) The thermometer reads 82 degrees fahrenheit, which sure isn't hard to take! Kevin, Amy and I drove from home to Bangor on Sunday and flew from there to Sanford, Florida on a definitely no-frills flight! We arrived safely, though - who needs a movie when you've got a dozens of little children around for entertainment? There was even a raffle draw during the flight - you could buy tickets and have your number drawn to win a beach towel, or a model of the plane we were on, or a shot glass!!!! But for the price we paid, we really can't complain.
We stayed at a hotel in Sanford Sunday night, but instead of the glorious sunshine we were expecting, we woke to dark rain clouds and showers. Just remembering the blizzard we drove through in Maine, though, we had to be thankful. Here are Amy and Kevin outside our hotel on Monday morning, with our rental car that Kevin has named "The Tomato".
Kevin and I plan to be back in Orlando next week, but Amy will have flown home by then, so we stopped at the Outlet Mall for a bit of shopping,
then we went to Disney Marketplace for a little taste of Disney.
Lunch at "The Earl of Sanwich" was yummy.

but dessert was scrumptious....
So it was back in our little car for an hour's drive to Redington Beach, where we are staying with Byron and Ruth at the place they rent right on the beach, for the rest of the week. Here are some happy faces.
For you who have been here before, aren't the renovations amazing? It is like a whole new place!
As we walked on the beach before lunch, we thought of all of you who would love to be here - we really did! As we always say, maybe next year......

So, that's how things are on the Gulf of Mexico. I'll keep you posted on all the happenings!
