Time to Update the Decor

Wow, after roughly 33 years, there is a new light fixture in our dining room! I had been talking about making a few changes, just to update things a bit, and here is one little change we've made. This is the old light, which we loved at the time,

and here is the new one!

I really love it, and the new modern look it gives the dining room. Of course now I need to change the wallcoverings, the drapes, the furniture....... Oh, not right away, but eventually. It's funny, though - my children don't want me to change the house too much. I guess that's because this is what home has always been like for them. They are surprisingly quite sentimental about certain items. Sorry, kids, you'll have to allow me to to a bit of redecorating. (We have lots of pictures of things the way they were, right?)
