PEI Fun!

Prince Edward Island is a place of unimagineable beauty. The farmland with all its shades of green against the blue of the ocean, fields of wildflowers, red mud roads and fields - I am constantly oohing and aaahing, even though I have seen it so many times before! Once you've been to PEI, it stays with you forever! This photo is only one of thousands I could have taken, and it barely captures scenery that is indescribable. Here we are on the deck of our fine abode

Our family has always been in love with PEI, and it's a place we have taken our children nearly every year of their lives. So, when Jonathan was coming east for a visit, PEI had to be on the itinerary. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to move pictures around in my posts, so this is actually the last picture of our trip, taken the morning we were leaving. Kevin, Jonathan, Miranda, Julia and I had gone over on Monday morning, and Amy, Jen, Maeve and my mother had joined us the following day. Miranda's parents, who were on a motorbike trip, spent a day with us on their way back home. So we were able to spend a few days together in one of our favourite places!

One of the highlights, of course was the lobster supper at New Glasgow, where we feasted on chowder, rolls, mussels, lobster, salads and desserts - Yummmm! Maeve is turning out to be a seafood lover. She went for the chowder, mussels and lobster like a real Maritimer!
Our crowd of eleven thoroughly enjoyed the meal

Thankfully we had one sunny afternoon to spend at Cavendish beach. Some of us braved the cold water, some soaked up the sun, and some built sandcastles. All fine beach activities!

Earlier, on another beach, Julia had had a dip in the Atlantic - I think she's an easterner at heart!
The lovely cottage we stayed in was near Cavendish. This picture was taken just outside our back door. Julia was fascinated as I blew dandelion seeds.

This shows the kitchen and living area of our cottage.

Our first evening, we got to see the sunset on Cavendish Beach. I love walking on the beach at that time of day. See our reflections in the wet sand?

The light gives a lovely effect to this picture of Jonathan, Miranda and Julia
