About Me

I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

January Joys

We've had at least three beautiful bright wintry Saturdays in a row, and what fun Maeve and I have had! Two weeks ago, the show was perfect for sliding, and Maeve convinced Gramma to put on her snow pants and grab the crazy carpets and go outdoors in the fresh air (I sure needed it!) and what a time we had! We spent the entire afternoon swooshing down the hill toward the pond on our sleds, carrying them back to the top, and doing it all over again. It made me think of all the four-year-olds I have had snowy fun with, and made me appreciate what a wonderful stage of life both Maeve and I are at! Then we came inside and made a delicious hamburg and vegetable soup for everyone's supper. It was a perfect meal after a day spent outside in the cold.
Last week we thought we'd try sliding again, but there had been a snowfall which covered up the crust, so instead we went for a long walk. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera to capture the precious moments. We both really liked playing house in the rooms that we outlined in the snow with our tracks. When we got back to the house, we found out that there was going to be a campfire and weiner roast in the woods! Here are some pictures that we took at the campfire.

Last night Maeve came for a sleep-over at Gramma's but today has been too cold and windy for playing outside, so we worked in the scrapbook room, sorting pictures and making things for people. Maeve looked through some old pictures and was very interested in who the people were. I'm noticing how grown-up she is becoming. She asks a lot of intelligent questions and has a wonderful sense of humour, and I love spending time with her!
There was a heavy snow storm yesterday with a lot of wind which blew the snow around, so it doesn't look like much accumulated, but here is the scene today.

Of course I can't post a blog without pictures of Josy and Robin, so here they are!
Robin has lost most of this hair now, but his face is still as sweet.

This is so cute of the two sisters!
