Birthday Girl

That was yesterday, when I turned 54!!! It's just a number, I know, but it looks strange in print. I don't feel any older than 30 (or so) Anyway, it was a really nice day. I had phone calls and emails from my three children - they were all so sweet to think of me and take the time to call. I talked with my mother before she left for Halifax, and I thanked her for having me. She laughed, but I was serious. Think of all the babies who don't get a chance to live because their mothers choose not to have them! Motherhood is a precious gift (and a responsibility) Kevin took me out for a lovely dinner at Brewbakers, a really special place in downtown Fredericton. I had an Asian pear and goat cheese salad with pine nuts and blueberry vinaigrette - just delicious. Then a half rack of lamb and garlic mashed potatoes. We had a glass of Australian chardonnay, but no dessert. It was a perfect birthday date! Then we visited with Jen and Rich and John and Ann and had a cup of tea. At home I got a present from Amy and had some pictures taken. Another year of life celebrated!
