Although the plans we had didn't turn out, it was a lovely weekend anyway. I expected to be at an MU Rally on Saturday and then leave on Sunday for a few days in Quebec, but Kevin and I decided to let the four Woollins have a relaxed, enjoyable trip, and have Maeve stay with us. We are really enjoying her, and I think she is much happier being able to run and play than being fastened in her car seat for hours at a time. She absolutely loves being outdoors! She copies whatever I do - digging in the flower bed, picking up sticks, smelling flowers. She is so cute, I just smile at everything she does. Enough grandmother talk, right?
One of these days I'll figure out how to add pictures to make this a little more interesting.
It was a quiet Mother's Day, with my mother away visiting her sister, my son far away in Alberta (I had a nice long chat with Jon and Miranda, which helped), one daughter on the afore-mentioned trip to Quebec, and the other daughter on a canoe trip! We three had supper with Brother Jon's family. We took Chinese food which we added to their salmon and fiddleheads - it was a great meal, especially the rhubarb pudding for dessert. I notice I talk quite a lot about food, I guess I should add it as another one of my interests!
When I began my blog, I didn't know there would be so many ordinary, everyday things to share with family and friends near and far. But now I realize, that, of course, most of the treasures in life are just that - simple and everyday. Putting them down "on paper" in cyberspace makes me pause and take stock of my many blessings!
