About Me

I love being a Mum and a Gramma! Relationships with loved ones are what give life meaning, especially the relationship I have with the One who gives me life! I appreciate all the beauty of nature, I love travelling to see new places, I enjoy photography, cooking, having company and cottage living in the summer. My favourite social event is a games night with family and friends.

Beautiful June

We have been home from the west for two weeks now, and I am really enjoying this lovely time of year. There is definitely a different feeling somehow in the west, with its wide open sky and its wonderful air, but home in New Brunswick has to be my favourite place. I love to travel and to see new places, but coming home is always a treat. Here are pictures we took of the Alberta landscape, first from the ground and then from the air.

This was taken just outside Grande Prairie, when we went for a Sunday drive. You can see the mountains in the distance. This was our first summertime visit, and it is entirely different from what we experienced in the winter!

This is what we saw as we took off from Edmonton - all the beautiful farmland, and those perfectly straight roads! I do so appreciate all the various types of beauty that are to be found in this wonderful vast country of ours. Of course, tomorrow is Canada Day, so I'll be waving my little flag at the Tracy parade and enjoying the fireworks in the evening. That will be in my next post, hopefully.

Maeve and I have spent a couple of Fridays together. Here she is in the daisies with Sophie the cat.

The cat followed us into the field, so Maeve was showing her the daisies. There is a wonderful smell in a field of daisies that takes me back to my childhood and reminds me of picking wild strawberries in a field near our house. Maeve and I did find some ripe ones to pick and pop into our mouths! Oh, so delicious - mmmm.

Happy Canada Day everyone! Celebrate safely, and say a prayer for our country!
